Earth Guardians Reimagined

On display January 15 - April 30, 2024.

Earth Guardians Reimagined brings back to life an exhibition which previously graced the walls of the Rotary Centre for The Arts. These one of a kind pieces by Tracy Thring bring animals from all over the world to life through acrylic on canvas.

Sadly, on May 21, 2023, Tracy lost her battle with cancer. This exhibition is spearheaded by her eldest daughter and curated with care by her family to honor her life, talent, and passion.

A pillar of the arts community, Tracy Thring had a wild imagination and a gift with a paint brush. She dabbled in arts of many forms - glass etching, resin, watercolor, and acrylic to name a few. Teaching students young and old new techniques was her favorite pastime. Tracy wrote screenplays and murder mysteries. She wrote and illustrated children's books (to be published by her daughter posthumously), and even almost opened a theme park here in the Okanagan in the 90's. Her imagination had no limit. She taught everyone she touched that anything is possible if you put your mind to it.

The greatest honor to her memory would be her artwork being forever displayed on the walls of those who appreciate her vision and craft.

25% of the proceeds of the sales of her pieces will be going to InspireHealth. Tracy never had the opportunity to access these services, but they were something she planned to use. Many do not realize that this non-profit support system is available here in B.C. for cancer patients and their family members. We hope that through this show we can celebrate the memory and talent of Tracy and bring awareness to this incredible support system for those battling cancer.
