This year, December 1st is Giving Tuesday. Following Black Friday, the idea is to start the holiday season by giving something back. At its core, Giving Tuesday is about acknowledging the valuable work that is done in our community by supporting those who make it happen, and consciously giving to causes we feel are important.

For 7 years, this has been a day to do good for others, with over 21 million dollars being raised last year across all platforms in Canada. Within our own circle of the arts, we know 2020 has been overwhelmingly challenging for artists and art organizations at all levels.

Across the Visual and Performing Arts, new and unexpected challenges have arisen that have radically changed the way in which they can continue to provide important creative services and events. Your charitable support is more appreciated than ever, by us here at the Rotary Centre for the Arts and by other creative professionals and venues in the community. It is critical now that we make sure to show the local artistic organizations and businesses in our community that we value them. Just like everyone else, they are in a time of need, and even with all the creative solutions in the world they are facing setbacks and roadblocks.

As a non-profit organization, we rely on our generous community at all times, but our need and challenge has rarely been greater. If you’re able to support the Rotary Centre for the Arts at this time, please know your charitable support is more appreciated than ever.
