Sandra Chapman was born in Winnipeg, Manitoba and has lived in various parts of Canada. Having resided in British Columbia since 1991, initially on the West Coast and now making her home in the beautiful Okanagan Valley, Sandra is continually inspired by the diversity and beauty of the Canadian landscape. She began to explore her love of painting in 2001 through workshops and as a student in the Fine Arts department of Okanagan University College although she is primarily self-taught.
Sandra’s paintings reflect her interpretation of the relationships she sees in nature. “When I look at trees for example, I see not only the trees, but the spaces between them and the way they relate to each other and other aspects of the landscape. To me, nature mirrors and reflects universally experienced emotions such as joy, passion, solitude, connection and disconnection. I attempt to capture the essence of these relationships in my paintings.” Sandra loves to paint on a larger scale, using bold color and dramatic composition.

Debra Martin - Debra's paintings have been featured in the Kelowna Art Gallery, as well as several art shows. Her pieces are found in both private and corporate art collections. Debra is currently represented by Gallery 421 in Kelowna, BC. She is primarily self-taught.
Martin creates landscapes and still life paintings. Her landscapes are characterized by dramatic skies and majestic trees. She slowly builds layers of color into the canvas to create a sense of fluid movement and atmosphere. Her still life paintings are characterized by fabrics in bold colors and traditional as well as contemporary patterns; the influence of works by Gustav Klimt are evident in these pieces. Debra has traveled to many destinations in Europe and Asia. She has been inspired by the diverse fine art and architecture in these regions, and their influence can be seen in her work.
Debra resides with her husband and 2 children in Kelowna, BC.

Joanne Onrait was born and raised in Saskatchewan. After graduating from nursing in Regina, Joanne worked in Saskatchewan and Alberta before moving with her husband to Kelowna. Now retired from nursing Joanne began to pursue her lifelong love of art through classes at the Kelowna Art Gallery. She has further developed her skills at painting workshops in Kelowna and Vancouver and in the Fine Arts program at the University of British Columbia Okanagan campus.
Joanne is a member of the Impressions art Group and is an active member of the Federation of Canadian Artists. Her work can be seen at various shows throughout the year and on her web-site www.joanneonrait.ca
Often working on a large scale with bold colors, Joanne continues to find new ways to express her artistic vision with each new painting.
