Community Programs that promote creativity,
expression and inspiration.

Community Programming at the Rotary Centre for the Arts

  • Over 250,000 people per year visit the RCA for performances, classes and workshops for students and all ages of the community.
  • The program enriches the school experience for more than 10,000 children per year.
  • Tours and Workshops are generally free, or offered at a very low cost to ensure there is no barrier of participation.
  • Professionals develop and deliver the programs
  • Program highlights of the past year include:
an interdisciplinary art camp during spring break; two weeks of summer arts camp; weaving and drama workshops for grade three students; student matinee performances; Education week art display and noon hour music performances by students; master classes with visiting professionals.
  • Heart Fit, for those who wish to explore creative expression,
is a facilitated program in our Open Studio. The Open Studio is an all day drop-in studio for visual artists to create and meet other artists.
  • All of our adult drop-in programs are popular:
Basement Musicians, Feel the Rhythm Community Drum Circle, Salsa Thursdays and the Open Studio each provide a place to drop in and be creative, and meet like-minded people.
  • Teen programs: Mural Painting with professional artist instructors and Belly dancing, which builds self-confidence and fitness.
