History of Sunshine Theatre Company
Founded in 1977 by Joan Panton, Sunshine is in
its 31st season, having started as a summer theatre doing such shows as
Boeing-Boeing and Wait Until Dark.
A significant development was the opening of the
Mary Irwin Theatre in the Rotary Centre for the Arts in 2002. This 326-seat
house is now the primary performance venue for Sunshine Theatre.
Sunshine Theatre’s Mandate
Sunshine Theatre will be the leading force for
the advancement of theatre in Kelowna and the surrounding area through high

Rotary Centre for the Arts, and will
maintain the same commitment to high quality professional instruction
and a positive learning experience. Also, Susan Snowdon is still
providing
Storybook Theatre performances to
our youngest audiences.
