How did an illiterate son of a Glover become the greatest playwright in the World? He got someone else to write the plays!
Based on the biggest theatrical debate of all time, The Shakespeare Show follows Edward de Vere, the 17th Earl of Oxford as he meets the ghost of Christopher Marlowe, the three Witches from Macbeth, Anne Hathaway, the bubonic plague and Queen Elizabeth herself!
The Shakespeare Show, written almost entirely in Iambic Pentameter, is another "relentlessly clever, action-packed and intellectually satisfying" Monster Theatre adventure, complete with puppets, songs, satire and sword-fights!
Tickets are $30 per adult or $10 per student and can be purchased online at Select Your Tickets, by visiting the RCA Box Office, or by calling (250) 717-5304. To learn more about the '09-10 Sunshine Theatre Season click here.

| Bill Bourne with Bop Ensemble |

Event: Bill Bourne w/ Bop Ensemble
Date: January 22, 2010 at 7:30PM
Price: $30/adult - $10/student

Jane Eamon at 6:30PM
Three forces of nature meet in Bop Ensemble, a Canadian super-group featuring folk legends Bill Bourne and Wyckham Porteous, along with up-and-coming singer-bassist Jasmine "Jas" Ohlhauser. Combining Bourne's grit, Porteous' warmth, and Jas' energetic devilry, the three manage to catch lightning in a bottle.
Bourne, who is cut from the cloth of a classic troubadour, was called by Texas songwriting legend Tom Russell "a shining light in the North American folk and roots scene."
Porteous matches Bourne's nearly legendary status and was described by Andrew Loog Oldham "Leonard Cohen meets Harry Dean Stanton, a warm, warm, performer whose voice is like a bottle of wine who has matured into a friend."
Jasmine "Jas" Ohlhauser is the wild card of the bunch, an exuberant 25-year-old who also plays with the Edmonton band Lilys On Mars. With the addition of her dance theatrics, Bop Ensemble shows come close to performance art. Each of the three is great on their own; together they're something truly special.
Tickets can be purchased online through Select Your Tickets, by visiting the RCA Box Office, or by calling (250) 717-5304. For more info on the Bop Ensemble visit www.billbourne.com.

If you believe they don't write songs quite like they used to, there is new hope for old romantics. With her sultry voice and unique style, Canadian chanteuse Jill Barber picks up the torch where the golden age of music left off.
Taking a giant step forward from the typical confines of the singer/songwriter, Jill delivers songs that strongly evoke. From the moment you hear her distinctive voice, you are transported to another time and place.
"The best songs ever written are the ones that somehow transcend time and fashion," says Jill. "They may be old, but they haven't aged. It is that timeless quality that I aspire to in my own songwriting."
A seasoned performer with a growing fan base across North America and the UK, Jill gained national acclaim as a 2008 double-Juno nominee and multiple East Coast Music Award winner. Drawing on influences from old-time jazz standards, blue-grassy folk and hook laden pop, Jill's music evokes the rich sounds of Patsy Cline, Edith Piaf and Etta James.
Tickets can be purchased online through Select Your Tickets, by visiting the RCA Box Office, or by calling (250) 717-5304. For more information on Jill Barber visit www.jillbarber.com.

Sage-ing With Creative Spirit is a new program to be presented at the Rotary Centre for the Arts on Tuesdays for the upcoming year. The program is sponsored by The Government of Canada's New Horizons for Seniors Programs.
"Sage-ing is the process of approaching aging as a positive journey filled with wisdom, learning and possibility. It affirms the importance of the older years and teaches how to harvest life's wisdom and transform it into a legacy for future generations. Sage-ing addresses spiritual development, interpersonal relationships, communication skills, service work and social aspects of aging." The Sage-ingĀ® Guild
Mounting clinical evidence supports emerging understanding that creative exploration of one's life experiences enhances wisdom, health and wellbeing. To learn more about studies in arts and health, visit www.creativeaging.org
The intent of Sage-ing With Creative Spirit is to recruit and stimulate ambassadors who will spread awareness of the vital contributions of the arts to lifelong learning, creative expression, health and well-being.
Intergenerational weekly classes in a variety of artistic creative expressions will train participants to move into the community to recruit and engage others to explore their creativity.
All programs are FREE, but participants will provide their own basic supplies where needed, and agree to help spread the philosophy of the program.
Participants must agree to offer within the community half the number of hours of free training they receive and to submit a photo and short explanation of this sharing to www.sage-ing.com.
If you would like to become part of the program as a facilitator for a series of classes, please contact keclose@yahoo.com. Facilitators should submit a short bio, headshot, and proposal for a program in league with the philosophy of Sage-ing With Creative Process.
