With only a few weeks away before the 10th annual Evergreen fundraiser event, the Rotary Centre for the Arts is gearing up for a full evening of fun and flair, New Orleans style!

To celebrate the 10th anniversary, guests will be greeted by a colourful new format, bursts of high-energy entertainment, and New Orleans style cuisine served in a social manner. Upon arrival guests will be greeted by the Kinshira Fire Troupe and the sassy Cheesecake Burlesque Revue, followed by a healthy serving of funky jazz and blues.

With a focus on entertainment and food, John Lee Sanders will be performing in the Funky Butt At Congo Square and, just around the corner the Anna Jacyszyn Trio will perform lush jazz in the Preservation Jazz Hall.

Guests will also enjoy an array of New Orleans style menu items including Pulled Pork Sliders, Gazpacho Soup Shooters, Blackened Catfish & Andouille Sausage Jambalaya and Fennel Poached Prawns & Dill Mussels, prepared by Chef Travis Hackl of Okanagan's Finest Foods.

The evening promises to be an exciting event with many experience packages available for bidding, including private concerts & cocktail parties in your own home, exciting getaways and many other fantastic gift items.

The Rotary Centre for the Arts invites you to the opening of the 2009 Evergreen Art Gallery on Tuesday, November 10th from 7:00-9:00 p.m.

The Evergreen Art Gallery features many rich facets of expression, including graphite, acrylic, oil, paper sculpture, clay, bronze and stone. Artwork will be available for purchase until November 20th, 2009 and will be on display from November 9-19th in the Upper Lobby.

Artists will be in attendance to answer any questions and discuss their work. All proceeds raised through the purchase of artwork are committed to funding the annual costs of Youth Arts Education Programming at the RCA.

As a long time native to the Okanagan, the local backdrop has had strong influences in Broc's landscape style and choice of subject matter.

Using a variety of specialized digital equipment for landscapes, he not only captures traditional colour and black and white landscapes, but also uses infrared for its unique perspective on otherwise familiar scenery.

Large panoramic prints are his choice presentation, and to best replicate each scene the prints are displayed on high contrast metallic or flex paper.
