  • The RCA has a new Resident Artist!

The Rotary Centre for the Arts would like to welcome June Martins, Fay Wolfenden and Janet Stein to Studio 203.

The dynamic trio specializes in different styles of jewellery making and is an excellent addition to the group of Resident Artists at the RCA.

June Martins brings with her a wealth of knowledge in Art Clay Silver and other Precious Metal Clays.

June is a certified instructor of Art Clay Silver and has many years of experience using a broad range of methods to create unique jewellery for men, women and children.

Fay Wolfenden is a glass artist who specializes in the creation of beautiful glass beads and jewellery, glass fusing and the construction of one-of-a-kind glass panels.

With over 30 years of experience as a glass artist, Fay has worked in several stained glass stores and taught a variety of glass art classes while living in Toronto.

Completing the Jewellery Co-op is Janet Stein, an accomplished jewellery designer with over 20 years of experience in silversmithing. Janet received her formal training under the mentorship of goldsmith Wayne Mackenzie at Electrum Design Studio in Edmonton, before moving to Kelowna.

The Rotary Centre for the Arts would like to thank everyone who applied for studio space. Due to the number of qualified applicants who met the outlined criteria, the committee had a very difficult decision to make.

The Jewellery Co-op not only met all of outlined criteria, but brings to the RCA a unique offering of workshops and classes, represents artists working in different mediums and is comprised of experience artists and teachers working at a high level of excellence in their art forms.

As we welcome the new Resident Artist aboard, we would like to wish Janice Fingado the best of luck in Tucson, Arizona. As Janice has been with us since 2005, she will be missed very much! The Jewellery Co-op will be taking occupancy of Studio 203 on August 1, 2009.

With the Summer Arts Blast Program filling up fast, the Rotary Centre for the Arts would like to remind parents to register their children today!

Although there are no longer any spots remaining for children ages 5-8, there is still space for those ages 9-11 to register.

Registration for the Summer Arts Blast Program is $230 per child, with two seperate sessions are available to choose from: July 6-10th and July 13-17th from 9am-4pm.

Don't miss this chance to register, as the camps are filling up fast! For more information on Arts Blast or to register online visit www.RotaryCentrefortheArts.com
